Hello EpoxyDAO Community,
We are here to address our community regarding to today’s scam event. On 05 OCT 2020 5:00hrs UTC, we (Founders) received a call from our telegram moderator regarding a scam which was already taking place on Uniswap exchange. We immediately verified it and started analyzing the depth of this issue. We found some scammers created fake ERC20 contract using our project name and selling fake tokens on Uniswap exchange and scamming people. After analyzing we immediately called for a meeting with our core team members. Thanks to our advisors for showing us the right steps to address this issue.
The scammer started with initial 200 ETH and 1M fake EPX deposit and this is his withdrawal amount from Uniswap.
Steps taken by our team:
1. We immediately posted and made announcement regarding to this incident in twitter and telegram and tried to make aware of this to everyone as much possible. We posted the fake and real contract address screenshots.
2. We made ourselves listed on Uniswap immediately. We never intended to get listed in any kind of liquidity pool. This step was taking as a precautionary measure for people to get the difference between real and fake EPX. So they can check our logo and information regarding our contract, which obviously scammers didn’t have and stop falling into traps.
3. We created EPI (temporary tokens) for hosting EpoxyDAO ICO. So people who wants to make immediate investment can buy from ICO rather than waiting for IEO rounds on exchanges.
Still those scammers managed to raise around 600+ ETH by selling fake tokens. We feel sorry for the victims of this scam events. We request you kindly do research and verify each and every details before making any kind of investment on any project. 90% of the crypto projects are always scam and people around you are waiting for you to fall in their traps and make them money. DO NOT go for huge bonuses and free money high return schemes. Make investments after proper research.
Followed by this event around 13:00hrs UTC, we got DDoS attack by unknown willing to shut down our website. We are still working on this issue and updating our website with DDoS protection from 3rd party.
Today’s events shows the true potential of EpoxyDAO and it’s demand and growing interest. If a scammer can raise 600+ ETH in no time with fake contract address and information then think what will be the price of 1 EPX after platform launch in 2021. So don’t be late to grab real tokens and be a part of EpoxyDAO’s success journey.
